National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), Sri Aurobindo Marg, New Delhi have released notification for National Talent Search Examination 2017. This examination is for those candidates who are studying class 10th. This test is meant to identify the nurture talent. This examination will be conducted in two Stages; Stage 1 (State) and Stage 2 (National). The NCERT have decided to conduct this NTSE 2017 Examination on 4th,5th November 2017 for Stage 1 and 13th May 2018 for Stage 2.
This Scholarship will provided to those candidates who have passed 10th class and going to take admission in 11th class. So this scholarship will be provided to who belong to National, who cannot continue their education without financial support. So, candidates who are studying in Class XI and XII will get scholarship amount of Rs.1250/- and Applicants who are studying for Under Graduate and Post Graduate courses, they will get Rs.2000/- per month. Educational Qualification :- Minimum education qualification for candidates is class 10th from recognized university or board. For more details refer official notification.
Reservation :- There is reservation of 15% for candidates who belongs to SC category, 7.5% for students belonging to ST candidates and 4% for the Physically Challenged Students. Physically challenged applicants with any of following disabilities.
- blindness and low vision.
- deaf and hard of hearing
- locomotor disability including cerebral palsy, leprosy, cured, dwarfism, acid attack victims and muscular dystrophy.
- autism, intellectual disability, specific learning disability and mental illness.
- Multiple disabilities from amongst persons under clauses all including deaf blindness in this post is identified for each disabilities.
Selection :- Stage – I, Selection will be done by States / UTs and those who qualify Stage – I, will be eligible to appear in Stage II Examination, conducted by NCERT.
Qualifying Marks :- Applicants who will have appear in this exam, they will have to gain minimum 40% for General candidates and 32% for SC/ST/PH candidates in each paper.
Language Test :- Qualifying in nature and marks obtained in this test will not counted in final merit list.
Scholarship Amount :- The amount of scholarship for different course will be as followings :-
- Scholarship of Rs.1250/- per month for Class XI-XII.
- Scholarship of Rs.2000/- per month for Undergraduates and Post Graduates.
- Amount of scholarship for PhD is fixed in accordance with the UGC norms.
